Martin Götz from Graz, Austria

MartinSW11

In his teen years Martin took guitar and keyboard lessons. Quite a few years later he learned to play the tin whistle. At the age of 15 Martin started his own band, him being the bassist. Since then he has been playing in various bands for ten years, genres varying from classical rock music, jazz, covering The Beach Boys and playing self-composed songs. Apart from recording CDs and airplays on local radio channels a concert with 2000 spectators and a performance in Vienna’s “Rockhaus” are his personal highlights. In 2002 Martin’s self-composed song “Rain” ranked second in the songwriters’ contest “Song4U”. In 2008/2009 Martin spent a year in Galway, Ireland, together with an Irish partner. They performed in pubs and as street musicians. Together they wrote more than a dozen songs. His latest band “The New Ladykillers” only perform infrequently and with a varying cast now. I've explored a few new genres together with Martin and I love working with him.
